Gigi Hadid is headed to the sand for New Year’s Eve. The model joined beau cody Simpson, pop idol Selena Gomez, reality TV and runway phenom Kendall Jenner, and other friends on a plane headed to Dubai.

“Dubai bound tomorrow with some mates,” Cody Simpson announced on Twitter. “New Year’s will be mental. Then a little Maldives surf action.”

It would appear that this trip confirms the whispers: Everybody involved is back to being friends again after Kendall was accused of getting too friendly with Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber.

In fact, according to the Daily Mail, it is now Kendall’s BFF Hailey Baldwin who is cozying up to Bieber. But Selena, Kendall and Gigi are doing just fine on their own.

As her name indicates, Gigi Hadid has some ties to the Middle East. Her father is Mohamed Hadid, a Palestinian real estate developer. Whether or not he had anything to do with the trip abroad for the NYE celebrations is not known. But it sure looks like one heck of a trip for a group of friends to make.
