Frances Bean Cobain sent a lovely message to Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda on Tuesday, offering her help should she need anything following the tragic loss of her father to suicide.
Cobain was just a baby when her father, Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, shot himself inside his Seattle home, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t feel the loss. She recently responded to Lana Del Rey after an interview came out in which the singer said she wished “she was dead already” and spoke about some of her musical influences, which included Kurt Cobain.
“@LanaDelRey the death of young musicians isn’t something to romanticize … I’ll never know my father because he died young & it becomes a desirable feat because ppl like u think it’s “cool” … Well, it’s f****** not. Embrace life, because u only get one life. The ppl u mentioned wasted that life.Don’t be 1 of those ppl,” Cobain wrote on Twitter.
Zelda Williams left her social media accounts this week after several people sent her manipulated images of her father and cruel messages, saying she needed time to heal.
“I will be leaving this account for a but while I heal and decide if I’ll be deleting it or not,” she wrote on Instagram.”In this difficult time, please try to be respectful of the accounts of myself, my family and my friends. Mining our accounts for photos of dad, or judging me on the number of them is cruel and unnecessary. There are a couple throughout, but the real private moments I shared with him were precious, quiet, and believe it or not, not full of photos or ‘selfies’. I shared him with a world where everyone was taking their photo with him, but I was lucky enough to spend time with him without cameras too. That was more than enough, and I’m grateful for what little time I had. My favorite photos of family are framed in my house, not posted on social media, and they ‘ll remain there. They would’ve wound up on the news or blogs then, and they certainly would now. That’s not what I want for our memories together. Thank you for your respect and understanding in this difficult time. Goodbye.”
Cobain offered up anything Williams should need in the coming weeks and months via Twitter, saying, “You have such an incredibly beautiful soul. I love you but you already knew that. Wherever, whenever u need me I’ll be there.”
