Flavor Flav was arrested in New York on Thursday after a traffic stop showed he was driving without a license and had a small amount of marijuana in his possession.
The rapper and reality star had been speeding when he was pulled over in Valley Stream and was found to have 16 suspensions on his license. He was allowed to leave custody to attend a funeral for his mother, who died on New Year’s Eve.
The arrest was far from the first run-in Flav has had with the law; other than a prior arrest for marijuana, he was taken into custody in 2012 after an altercation with his fiancee’s son turned ugly and the rapper allegedly threatened the teen with a knife.
Flav was clocked at 79 mph in a 55 zone and is scheduled to appear in court on January 28.
