There are only a few Xbox-exclusive franchises that are still kicking around. Halo will obviously continue as a series until it no longer makes money, but this year’s Gears of War: Judgment may have been Epic’s final take on the series.
Aside from the big exclusives, Microsoft still has the Fable IP to lean on for exclusive titles. Though the publisher was not kind to fans with the Kinect-focused Fable: The Journey, the upcoming remake of the original game could help bring new fans to the series while appeasing fans that may have abandoned it.
After pushing the Fable Anniversary release back to February earlier this year, Lionhead Studios today announced that the release will, at least, be in very early February. The Xbox 360 release date for Fable Anniversary is now set for February 4, 2014 in the U.S. and February 7, 2014 in Europe.
Fable Anniversary is not to be confused with Fable Legends, the co-op Fable game that has been announced for the Xbox One.
In addition to the release date announcement, Lionhead also detailed some of the in-game benefits coming to players who purchase “first edition” copies of Fable Anniversary. Players who buy an embossed “limited-run box” of the game will get a Launch Day Outfits & Weapons Pack DLC, containing various weapons and costumes for use in the game. The full list of items in the download includes outfits based on the red guard, blue guard, red prophet, black graduate, and scythe, as well as the lute and will user’s scepter weapons. Players will also get a Lionhead helmet for their Xbox LIVE avatar.
