Eva Longoria signed a deal yesterday with Universal Television to produce a new show about relationships called “Ready For Love”, a reality show featuring three bachelors looking for the right one.
Although the reality market has been somewhat flooded already with shows about finding love, Longoria and the execs at Universal say they think they have something different on their hands and are excited to bring it to fruition. The show is set to air this winter, and will star real-life married couple Giuliana and Bill Rancic as hosts.
“Having Eva Longoria on our team is a huge advantage for our Alternative program development as we have pleasantly discovered in implementing her ideas for Ready for Love, which is shaping up as a terrific and upbeat series,” NBC Entertainment’s President of Alternative and Late Night Programming, Paul Telegdy, said. “She is passionate, fully engaged and has keen instincts for putting together a winning formula for her shows that always bear her imprint.”
Longoria, who is best known for her role as Gabrielle on “Desperate Housewives”, is jumping into the producing game with both feet; her production company, UnbeliEVAble Entertainment, is also involved with the upcoming Lifetime show “Devious Maids“, which is being written by “Housewives” creator Marc Cherry.
