Emily Blunt and John Krasinski are officially parents. On Feb. 16, Krasinski took to Twitter to announce the birth of the couple's first child.

The Office actor tweeted happy birthday wishes to his newborn daughter, whom the couple named Hazel.

He tweeted, "Wanted to let the news out directly. Emily and I are so incredibly happy to welcome our daughter Hazel into the world today! Happy bday!"

The couple, who wed on July 10, 2010 in Italy, first announced the pregnancy back in September.

According to US Weekly, a source close to the couple spoke with the publication to give details about their excitement of becoming parents.

"They both want kids, it's one of the reasons they got a bigger place, in a neighborhood that you can raise a family," the source explained. "They both couldn't be more excited."

In the past, Blunt has actually shared her desire to have children. Back in May of 2012, the Into the Woods actress spoke openly about her aspirations of becoming a mother during an interview with Modern Luxury: Manhattan.

"We want to have children; I just don't know when yet," the Devil Wears Prada actress told Manhattan. "I'm just not sure about the timing of all of  that. We're both from big families, so I think it's something we want."

Then, a few months later, Krasinski spoke briefly about fatherhood during an interview with Matt Lauer on the Today show. The Office alum quipped about catching a glint of what parenthood is like, thanks to his Promised Land cohort Matt Damon.

The two were actually filming the movie at the time of the interview. However, Krasinski shared some quick details about Damon's incredible multi-tasking skills.

"We actually wrote with children climbing all over him, and he was doing bath time and dinner and everything, and we still got it done," Krasinski said.

With such high regards for parenthood, the birth of their daughter probably exudes an incredible breath of fresh air! Luckily, their dream has come true!
