Eddie Redmayne, star of The Danish Girl, and his wife, Hannah, are expecting their first baby. The couple recently celebrated their first wedding anniversary. A source close to Hannah Redmayne confirmed the happy news to People magazine.

In the new issue of People, Eddie Redmayne has nothing but good things to say about life as a married man.

“It’s been extraordinary. It’s been the most wonderful whirlwind,” Redmayne, 33, said. “I think saint might be the word. She is an absolute saint. And it’s a ride for both of us. It’s wonderful doing it with someone you love because you also have a second eye on it all.”

The Danish Girl is in theaters now, but that doesn’t mean Eddie Redmayne is a man of leisure. He is presently filming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Once filming wraps, however, he plans to take some time off. That will allow him and his wife to enjoy some time as husband and wife–before baby makes three.

“The plan is, after Fantastic Beasts ends in a couple of months’ time, to take a little time off and try to take it all in,” Redmayne said.

It’s been an incredible year for the actor. In addition to winning an Academy Award for his role in The Theory of Everything, Eddie Redmayne got married and now is going to be a father, too.
