The Duggar Family is not like other families. When you have a hugely successful reality TV show, you get to do things that other people don’t always get to do. Just ask the Kardashians. When the rest of the world watches your life that closely, the money that brings buys all kinds of perks.
But the Duggars are famous for having 19 Kids and Counting. And anybody with kids knows the budget strain that brings. So when little Josie Duggar was set to celebrate her fifth birthday, the Duggars did what lots of other families on a budget do.
They took the party to McDonalds.
The Quiverfull clan posted to their official Facebook page that they had a, “Fun birthday lunch for Josie at a place she loves with Golden Arches! This girl puts the ‘Happy’ in the Meal! Today this precious girl is 5 years old! Time does fly. We love you, Josie and are so thankful the Lord brought you to us!”
They posted photos from the restaurant, complete with Happy Meal bags, Chicken McNuggets, and chocolate milk.
Jill Duggar Dillard could not be at the McDonalds soiree, but she posted her own tribute to her little sister on Instagram with the caption:
“Happy 5th birthday Josie! We love you! You’re a miracle,”
Little Josie Duggar was indeed a miracle baby. She was born premature due to complications and weighed one pound, six ounces at birth. She spent four months in the hospital before coming home to her family.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar have nine girls and ten boys, and all of their names start with the letter “J.”
