Barrymore loves being a mom and is excited to add another addition to the family. “I count my lucky stars every day. It’s amazing. I never take it for granted,” she said. “My favorite thing about being a mom is just what a better person it makes you on a daily basis,” she said. “Every morning when I wake her up, the endgame is, Can I get her to smile? And that puts me in a good mood. It’s definitely a different way to live—and a much better one.”

During her pregnancy with Olive, Barrymore kept it very private and said because of that she had people constantly stalking her. She promises, this time, to be more open with her pregnancy.

“Last time I never commented on it, and people just stalked me the entire time,” Barrymore said. “So yes, it’s happening, it’s true. I tried to keep it a secret for as long as possible.” She says she is blessed to be having another child and sibling for Olive. “When I found out I was overjoyed. It always feels so surreal, it’s incredible … that ‘here we go again‘ feeling,” she said. “And I’m feeling blessed. Blessed! You’re so lucky to get to do it. It’s such a miracle. I just felt really lucky.”

Barrymore is not the only one who is looking forward to the new baby. Kopelman is just as excited as she is. “Will is just thrilled — we both are — because we just wanted so badly for Olive to have a sibling,” she says. “In some ways, it’s really for her. So congratulations, Olive!” Barrymore grew up as an only child, and although she says she enjoyed her childhood, she admits that she never wanted Olive to be an only child. “It has nothing to do with whether I liked my childhood. I really did. But as a parent, that isn’t the childhood that I’d provide.”
