Drew Barrymore comes from a famous family. Throughout her childhood, she was watched closely. People wanted to know if little Drew Barrymore would follow her famous forebears into a spiral of wild living and breakdown.

But Drew Barrymore defied the odds. She is a mother of two daughters, Olive, 2½, and Frankie, 1. She is known to be such a great mom that other celebrities talk about her.

Jimmy Fallon says he and his wife compare notes with Drew Baryrmore about parenting.

"All the time. Since hers are a little older, we ask: 'What are you doing with your girls? Flash cards? Oh, did we miss out on that? What are flash cards?' Or 'Do I really need the baby to speak Mandarin?' If she starts speaking Mandarin then I’ve got to get myself a tutor just so I can understand my own baby."

Drew Barrymore recently spoke to a group at Safe Kids Day in Los Angeles. Keeping their kids safe is a huge concern for parents.

“I think as a parent sometimes I feel very overwhelmed with all that there is,” Drew Barrymore said.

But it is not all worries and concerns. Drew Barrymore loves having her kids, and thinks the more the merrier.

“Two is even better than one. I can’t believe it,” she said. And her older daughter is helping mom with the newer baby. “She’s great. She’s awesome.”

Recently Zooey Deschanel decried the trend of expecting new celeb moms to shed their baby weight very quickly. It seems to be a bit of a bragging rights issue to see who can bounce back from having a baby and be seen as having come through the experience without any alteration.

"Haven't we all seen those pictures of a sexy new mom in a bikini after one month? I will not be that person. I've always gone my own course and never been someone who had the need to be super skinny. I like a healthy look. I don't buy into that skinny-is-better mentality. I just eat healthy and work out and don't worry about my weight too much. Actresses aren't models, and most of them never wanted to be."

Drew Barrymore isn’t worried about is getting back to her pre-baby weight. “I think it’s crazy to worry about that. It takes nine months to build, it takes nine months to unbuild, at best,” she says. "We just have to take pressures off. They’re so silly and ridiculous. It took a year and I’m not even there, but it’s fine. I’m so okay with that.”
