A Draw Something show is currently in production over at CBS, with Ryan Seacrest and producer Michael “Who Wants to Be a Millionaire” Davis backing the project. According to CNN, the program, which is based on the popular “Pictionary”-style app, will pit celebrities against average, everyday individuals who play Draw Something on a fairly regular basis. It’s also rumored that people at home will be able to participate on one level or another, though details at this point are pretty sketchy.
In case you’ve been out of the loop for a while, Draw Something is the insanely popular mobile game in which players guess what, precisely, their family and friends are attempting to illustrate. Depending on your skill level as an artist, your renderings will either be a fantastic work of art or an unending source of embarrassment. For someone like me, whose artistic ability pretty much begins and ends with the stick figure, the game can be frustrating, especially when all of your friends can bring just about anything — and anyone — to life.
When the game debuted last February, it managed to accrue 50 million downloads in just 50 days, a feat that is impressive regardless of your thoughts on the game itself. Zynga, the company responsible for bringing “Mafia Wars” and “Words with Friends” to the connected masses, was so impressed with the app’s debut that they dropped an astounding $180 million to purchase OMGPOP, the game’s creator.
