Dr. Timothy Jorden, the former special-forces soldier/surgeon who allegedly shot and killed his ex-girlfriend on Wednesday morning, has been missing since the shooting; now, after police reported a body found near his Lake Erie home, rumors are circulating that Jorden has shot himself in a fit of remorse.
Officials aren’t confirming that the body is Jorden’s, leading to wild speculation on behalf of the public and hope for closure for the family of the victim, 33-year old Jacqueline Wisniewski. Jorden reportedly shot Wisniewski after luring her outside the hospital where she worked. Friends told police she was fearful of Jorden since he allegedly held her captive by knifepoint and began stalking her after she ended their relationship.
Tom Wrzosek, a neighbor of Jorden’s, told police he heard a single gunshot from the area of the steep, brush-filled terrain behind Jorden’s house on Wednesday morning about 90 minutes after Wisniewski was shot.
“It’s terrible,” said Wrzosek. “It’s a tragic situation. Nobody wins in a situation like this.”
