Doonesbury is a long running comic strip, written by Garry Trudeau for over 40 years. Never shying away from hot political topics, Trudeau has caused some controversy with today’s strip. It’s in regards to the hot button issue of requiring women seeking abortions to undergo ultrasounds before going through with the procedure. I won’t even bother summarizing it, as you can read it for yourself below.

Due to the the subject matter, many papers are deciding to run the strip in the op-ed sections of their newspapers instead of the funnies. While there are some who are pulling the strip altogether. Trudeau is naturally displeased with the proceedings, and made those thoughts clearly defined when speaking with The Guardian.
“I write the strip to be read, not removed. And as a practical matter, many more people will see it in the comics page than on the editorial page.”
