Dock collapses are nothing new to those who live near the water. It’s common sense not to have too many people on a dock for it may just give way under the weight. A wedding procession in Minnesota apparently didn’t get the memo.
Dan and Jackie Anderson were set to wed last weekend, but decided to take a few pictures with the bridesmaids and groomsmen on a dock before the wedding. If it was just the bride, groom and a couple of their friends; they would have been high and dry for what may be the happiest moment of their life. Instead, both the bride and groom had way too many friends, and ended up drenched for their big day.
A quick headcount reveals that there were 21 people on a tiny dock intended for maybe 10 people tops. It’s no wonder the dock collapsed and the those affected learned a valuable lesson – humans in large numbers weigh quite a bit.
Of course, this isn’t the first time that piers have buckled under the weight of too many humans. Just two years ago, a bunch of friends got together a prom night photo shoot and ended up in the water:
It’s not just docks collapsing these days as bridges are also tired of holding up humans:
Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the great 2014 dock collapse in Minnesota. Besides, the Anderson family now has a great wedding story to tell friends and family.
