  • DMX, the controversial rapper and actor, has been arrested again. DMX, is certainly no stranger to the law, and it is the fourth time that he has been arrested in the state of South Carolina just this year. He has previously been arrested on charges of driving under suspension, having an uninsured vehicle, and not having a licensed vehicle.

This time around, the rapper, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was caught behind the wheel of a vehicle by officers who had recognized him from his previous arrests earlier in the year. His other previous charges this year include driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

A spokeswoman for the Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport reports that airport police arrested the rapper around 5 p.m. on Monday evening. He was arrested when he was not able to provide a valid driver’s license. He was only forced to spend three hours in jail this time around, before posting bond.

It is clearly not a new thing to see DMX arrested, and has been in jail several times already, including a 2008 arrest on drug and animal cruelty charges. He was sent back to prison again in 2010 after violating probation, and the list goes on and on for the troubled and aging star.

Before all of his encounters with the law and prison life, DMX did have a successful career as both a rapper and an actor. He rose to fame with the dance club hit, “Party Up In Here” and “Ruff Ryders Anthem” early on his career. He also appeared in several films including Romeo Must Die and Cradle 2 The Grave, both which co-starred action star Jet Li.

Despite DMX being arrested again, it is only a minor charge, and he hopes to continue a revival of his career as a rapper. He released “Undisputed” in 2012, and then earlier this year, “The Weigh In,” an EP was released in anticipation of his new album.

A representative of DMX spoke after he was arrested, saying that he is ready to make his comeback and “This short arrest will not affect any of his upcoming concerts and he is planning on performing with Swizz Beatz on Wednesday’s Wendy Williams Show.”
