Legendary television and radio personality Dick Clark passed away yesterday at the age of 82 after suffering a massive heart attack, but he will always be remembered for his contribution to broadcasting and to American pop culture.
He was a friendly face in millions of living rooms across the country for over 50 years, first as host of teen dance sensation American Bandstand–which was a top show for three decades–and then as the usher of every new year since 1972 with “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”, which he created. Fans and friends remember Clark as a true professional and acknowledged him with their thoughts and memories on Twitter yesterday.
