Actress Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have officially made it to Splitsville. According to ABC News, the final steps in their divorce proceedings were complete after the court approved a ‘stipulated judgement’. The papers were officially filed on Nov. 27.
After 8 years of marriage, the “Unfaithful” actress filed for divorce from Brolin back in February. However, unlike most divorces, Lane and Brolin did not part on bad terms. It has also been reported that the divorce proceeding went on with little complication. An inside source close to the couple informed E! News that the split was ‘very amicable’. “It’s not ugly, it’s just over,” the source explained.
This is the second divorce for both Lane and Brolin. Lane’s first marriage to actor Christopher Lambert lasted six years from 1988 to 1994. Brolin was ironically married to actress Alice Adair during the same exact time. The two had no children together. However, Lane has a daughter, Eleanor, from her previous marriage to Lambert. The “Gangster Squad” actor also has two children, Trevor and Eden, from his previous marriage to Adair.
Determined not to wallow in the throes of divorce, Lane is directing her full focus to her career. The 48-year-old actress is currently preparing for her latest film, “Batman vs. Superman” with Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck. Brolin is currently focused on more personal issues as he recently checked into a rehabilitation center.
Earlier this year, Brolin revealed his drug usage as a teenager. He also shared that he was once part of a surf gang known as the Cito Rats. Brolin explained that they use to steal car parts to afford ‘drums and drugs.’ “I was the last [gang member] to get into heroin—I smoked it and the first to get out. I was around 16 or 17, so it was around the time of The Goonies,” Brolin explained. “But I liked working and learning, so it was very difficult for me to lend myself to that drug completely.”
However, it has not been confirmed whether drugs were partially to blame for the divorce. No details of their divorce settlement have been released either.
