Cissy Houston is likely recalling the day she learned her daughter, Whitney Houston, was found dead in a hotel bathtub as she faces the imminent passing of her granddaughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown. How could this 81-year-old woman not think of both scenarios when they are so eerily similar?

Sadly, health issues are preventing Cissy Houston from being by Bobbi Kristina’s side during her last days, but that hasn’t prevented this grandmother from sharing her love with the 22-year-old.

“I don’t pray like that. I give it to God one time, because I know he’s able, and I cannot change a thing,” Cissy Houston said back in March. “So I’m asking everyone to pray to the Lord, who we know can do something about it.”

A hearse and a white tent have appeared at the hospice facility outside of Atlanta where Cissy Houston’s granddaughter is living out her last days. It is expected that both are there to protect the family’s privacy in the wake of Bobbi Kristina Brown’s passing.

Dad Bobby Brown was away from his daughter’s bedside for several days to welcome the arrival of his baby girl Bodhi. Alicia Etheredge gave birth just days ago. Bobby was flown back to Atlanta Thursday, courtesy of Tyler Perry and his private plane, so he can resume his vigil at Bobbi Kristina’s bedside.

Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina’s boyfriend, has been served with a $10 million lawsuit in recent days, alleging that he caused physical harm to Bobbi Kristina Brown, in addition to withdrawing money from her bank accounts without permission. One such withdrawal took place after Bobbi Kristina was discovered unconscious in her Roswell, Georgia home, from which she has never regained consciousness. It’s uncertain if Nick Gordon will be charged with murder after Bobbi Kristina dies.

Hopefully Cissy Houston’s strong faith is sustaining her during these trying days. As she speaks of love and faith via phone to Bobbi Kristina Brown, she is likely reminding her granddaughter that she will one day soon be reunited with her mother. It must be heartbreaking for Cissy, as she relives at least some of what she experienced when Whitney Houston died.
