Christine McVie – keyboardist for classic rock group, Fleetwood Mac – now says she would like to rejoin the band after fifteen years of retirement.
McVie recently reunited on stage with Fleetwood Mac in London, and was hoping to possibly return to the group, according to the Guardian. However, guitarist Lindsey Buckingham had reportedly indicated displeasure at the idea. Apparently, Buckingham’s apprehensiveness was due to the concern that McVie might upstage Fleetwood’s original members, according to sources. The other female-half of the group – Stevie Nicks – has voiced her approval of the idea.
The rock group had just completed the European portion of the tour (sans Christine), and were set to conclude Greatest Hits in Australia and New Zealand when they had to cancel the two-week tours. Member John McVie was diagnosed with cancer, and is the long-time bassist of Fleetwood Mac. (He was also married to Christine McVie for nearly a decade.) The group posted a message to fans via their Facebook page.
