Christine McVie is rejoining Fleetwood Mac after having left 16 years ago, and the band plans to begin their North American On With the Show tour in September, the musician confirmed in an appearance with the band in a pre-taped appearance that aired on the Today Show Thursday.

When asked if she was rejoining the band, McVie didn't hesitate. "I think that can be said with a definite capital 'Yes,'" she said.

"FLEETWOOD MAC IS BACK...IN FULL..." the group also announced on its official website.

"The tour will kick off on Tuesday, Sept. 30 in Minneapolis, Minn. at the Target Center and the reunited band will perform 34 shows in 33 cities across North America," the veteran band's website said.

She did, however, join the band onstage in London late last fall to sing their well-known hit, Don't Stop.

McVie, a singer and keyboardist, has not toured with the band since their 1998 The Dance Tour. For the first time since then, the band will be touring in entirety, with members Lindsay Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, McVie, and John McVie, Christine's ex-husband.

Christine McVie joined Fleetwood Mac in 1970, when guitarist Peter Green left the band. She was married to John McVie at the time.

McVie, 70, also revealed for the first time a reason she stopped touring with the group years ago.

"I had a fear of flying," she told the Today Show.

"I hadn't flown for 15 years," McVie continued.

"I honestly could never in my wildest dreams have thought I could return to the band. It's just a dream come true," she told People.

"I go to bed going, 'This is so great. This is what I've been yearning for all these years and I didn't know it.' We're family. We're very lucky," McVie explained.

Fleetwood Mac's On with the Show tour kicks off in September. The band will be making stops in cities across the United States and Canada, including a performance on the Today Show Oct. 9.
