Just when Fleetwood Mac fans thought that life couldn’t get any better, (four of the band members reunited earlier this year) Christine McVie (the fifth member) has announced her own desire to return. The pleasant surprise comes when many fans thought the talented musician was Never Going Back Again and that she had “gone her own way” permanently. After treating fans to concerts at London’s O2 with all five members officially joined together, McVie has shared her thoughts in a recent interview with the Guardian about returning full-time.
Speaking about her involvement in the recent London concerts, McVie said, “It was amazing, like I’d never left. I climbed back on there again and there they were, the same old faces on stage.” Working with the band for 28 years, and serving as the band’s main songwriter should have some pulling power in encouraging a full-fledged reunion.

“I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them. I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted, but it hasn’t happened so we’ll have to wait and see.” McVie said before explaining her reason for leaving the band in 1998, “I think I was just music’d out. I suffered from some kind of delusion that I wanted to be an English country girl, a Sloane Ranger or something, and it took me 15 years to realize that it’s not really what I wanted at all.”
Though no official word from the other four band members (Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, John McVie, and Lindsey Buckingham) has been released at this time, fans have wasted no time tweeting enthusiasm about Christine McVie’s willingness to return.

Christine McVie acknowledges that reuniting the whole band may be a longer process than fans would like to hear. John McVie, Christine’s ex-husband, was recently diagnosed with cancer. Christine said, “It’s a long way down that path if it ever were to happen. John’s got to get well first, so it hasn’t been talked about. We’ll have to wait and see.”
