Christina Hendricks of Mad Men fame stars in a six-part TV series called Hap and Leonard that will premiere on Sundance TV in March. James Purefoy is one of her costars. In a recent interview with @hollywood’s Charlie Berens, he compared her to a luxury car.
“Christina Hendricks is like a Rolls Royce,” James Purefoy said of his costar. “We’re like a couple of beaten up rusty old trucks. She purrs onto the set.”
Hap and Leonard is set in 1980s East Texas. The six-episode series centers on best friends who struggle through some misadventures in their attempt to stay on the right side of the law. It should be mentioned there’s lots of martial arts expertise involved here, too. Purefoy plays the role of Hap Collins opposite Michael K. Williams’s Leonard Pine. Christina Hendricks is Hap’s ex-wife Trudy.
While this series is a far-cry from Mad Men, it certainly sounds like it will be yet another opportunity for Christina Hendricks’s on-screen energy to shine.

It’s unlikely that many actresses have been compared to a luxury car. What do you suppose Christina Hendricks thinks about her Hap and Leonard costar referring to her as a Rolls Royce?
