Christie Brinkley and John Mellecamp have been spotted out on a dinner date together, prompting guesses that she and Meg Ryan’s ex-boyfriend are an item.

If there is more truth than rumor to this, it will mark the first time Christie Brinkley has dated anyone since her split from ex-husband Peter Cook.

“Most of the time, I’ve got my kids with me, so I’m not as prone to meeting people,” she said back in 2010. “And then, you never really know if someone is talking to you because you’re a celebrity. It’s not my number one priority.”

John Mellencamp dated Meg Ryan for more than three years. Although the couple split up just over a year ago, they are still very close friends.

It was Monday evening when Christie Brinkley and John Mellencamp were seen leaving New York’s Bowery Hotel, after spending just over an hour inside having dinner.

Brinkley looked happy. She was dressed casually–wearing jeans and sneakers, along with a bright blue scarf. Mellencamp walked out just behind her.
