Chris Jericho: Will He Return To Wrestling?

Chris Jericho found fame as a professional wrestler, but deep down he still had a dream. He wanted to be a rock star. Jericho made his dream a reality and now he says he may not wrestle again and says that he prefers his rock and roll career to his wrestling one.

Jericho has left wrestling several times in the past but has always come back. This time, his retirement may be permanent and he says he doesn’t even need a big sendoff.

He recently talked about his departure from the WWE and a possible return saying,

“You know if I never wrestle again it won’t bother me, I don’t want the big send-off — I don’t want the big farewell match where I’m in the ring crying in front of 70,000 fans because I’m such a hero and my career is done, I don’t look at it that way. My career continues to move forward.”

“One day much to my fans’ chagrin I won’t be wrestling anymore but I’ll playing rock ‘n’ roll in your town, or I’ll be doing a podcast and you can hear me twice a week, or I’ll be acting in some show or I’ll be doing a spoken word performance. It’s not like I’m just going to dry up and go away when I finish wrestling.”

“Much of what I’ve been doing over the last few years is what I’m going to be doing for the next 20 years or 30 years, and less and less of that will be in-ring performing. Not that I couldn’t still go out there now and kick ass and tear it up because that’s what I do but when the time comes that I feel I couldn’t do that anymore then I won’t do it,” he added.

Jericho often posts photos on his Twitter page and recently those photos have been of him and his band and their performances. Jericho rarely references wrestling and if you had never seen him in the ring, you might not even know that he ever had a wrestling career.
