In an announcement made on Wed. Jan 15, it was revealed that Thor actor Chris Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky are expecting quite the addition to their family of three. Now, they’ll be a family of five as they’ll be welcoming twins! According to People magazine, the actor’s representative exclusively confirmed that the twins will be arriving some time early this spring.

The couple, who are already the parents of a 19-month-old daughter named India, made the initial announcement in November that they would have a new bundle of joy for the new year. However, there was no indication that they’d be preparing for two babies. But, nevertheless, they are extremely elated, as family is the number one, top priority for the couple.

Back in November when they made the initial announcement, they weighed in on the importance of giving their children a normal lifestyle outside of the cameras. They have cited ‘togetherness’ and ‘sacrifice’ as vital components for maintaining a healthy marriage. The couple has also agreed not to take on film projects at the same time. One of them won’t be filming while the other is working.

“You have to make an effort and try to stay together as much as you can,” says the Fast and Furious 6 actress. “If we start splitting and doing other things it’s not going to last. It’s difficult because you have to give up some things because you want to keep the family together,” she explained. “We try and keep it as normal as much as we can — like a typical family.”

Hemsworth made his feature film debut in the 2009 science fiction action film reboot of Star Trek. However, he’s most famous for his leading role in the 2011 film Thor. Hemsworth has also reprised his breakout role of Thor in Marvel’s the Avengers and the Thor: The Dark World sequel.

Hemsworth and Pataky began dating in early 2010, after meeting through mutual acquaintances. The couple married in December of 2010.
