Chile UFO Investigation Results: It’s a UFO

Some miners in Collahuasi, Chile watched with great interest as the disk-shaped object hung around in the cloudless sky over their worksite. For over an hour the shape hung, drifted. It made no sound. Eventually, it drifted away.

Might it have been a drone? The workers in the mine area are familiar with drones.

“People in that zone know about drones,” said Jose Lay, international affairs director for the CEFAA (Committee for the Studies of Anomalous Aerial Phenomena). “Fishing companies use drones and they make a lot of noise. This was definitely not a drone.”

One of the workers took pictures of the object with a high-quality camera. The photos were sent to investigators. The photos indicate an object that looks to not only reflect sunlight, but possibly emit heat energy of its own.

Weather researchers determined that the sky was cloudless in that area at that time, in June of this year. Experimental aircraft and other usual explanations were subsequently ruled out. The investigation ground on, but ran into some difficulty.

“The witnesses were not willing to cooperate,” Jose Lay told Huffington Post. “We tried to contact them, and we got no reply. So we treated the material just as we have treated several others of the same or similar nature: we file them for future reference or comparison purposes. That’s all we can do in this case.”

Eventually, when all other explanations were exhausted, analysts released their finding:

“It is an object or phenomenon of great interest, and it can be qualified as a UFO.”

Keep in mind that a UFO, by definition, is an “Unidentified Flying Object.” Therefore, calling something a “U.F.O.” is simply another way of saying, “We don’t know what this is yet.”

“This is clearly not a normal thing seen in the sky (bird, plane, cloud, etc.),” retired Navy physicist Dr. Bruce Maccabeesaid. “That makes it either the real thing – UFO – or a hoax, and it doesn’t appear to be a hoax, although the inability to question witnesses does reduce the credibility. Certainly this case is worthy of further study.”
