Comedienne Chelsea Handler’s show will be more about topical entertainment, cultural issues and basically a mix of everything around the world much like 60 Minutes. It’s relevant and investigative in nature, but Handler said faster and cooler than 60 Minutes and with more signature guest interviews.
Chelsea Handler’s new talk show will not be aired at a specific time on television but will be streamed on demand, where people seem to get their news nowadays. Handler said she plans to produce at least two episodes per week instead of doing it every day.
“Bill is the visionary we have been looking for to create a dynamic new format that’s global, informative and entertaining,” said Netflix Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.
Sarandos also said that Wolff would bring new creativity and fresh conversations to the much anticipated talk show format that the on-demand generation and Chelsea’s audience will care about.
“Viewers love Chelsea and her ability to go to a place and ask the questions no one else will,” Wolff said, “I can’t wait to work with these pioneers in the business to entertain and educate audiences around the world.”
Aside from the new talk show, Chelsea Handler will also be starring in Netflix documentary called Chelsea Does wrapping up as Chelsea Does Marriage, Chelsea Does Racism, Chelsea Does Silicon Valley and Chelsea Does Drugs.
Chelsea Handler left E! in2014, after she hosted late-night talk show Chelsea Lately for seven seasons. Handler infamously made headlines for slamming E! when she left them and now refuses to discuss further topics that has to do with the TV network.
