Chelsea FC: Is Jose Mourinho Headed To Manchester?

In the aftermath of David Moyes being fired from Manchester United FC, the hat is quickly filling with names of men that football pundits and fans alike think should replace him.

One name stands out from the rest: Jose Mourinho.

Despite his current turn at Chelsea FC, it is said that he was keen on the Manchester United job before it was gifted to Moyes by Sir Alex Ferguson.

The implications of this information, if absolutely true, is incredible.

Following Manchester United’s worst season in many years, one wonders how much better it could have been if Mourinho had been given the job.

It’s also possible that interest could linger on the part of the Portuguese manager, particularly if his Chelsea return does not end with silverware.

After the “Special One” first left the Blues behind, Chelsea had turned into something of a revolving door. No manager after Mourinho seemed to have what the club wanted.

This manager failed to win first place. That manager failed to bring home the Champions League trophy.

A caretaker manager led the team to said Champions League trophy and he was still let go!

It seemed to many observers that the London club was in truth trying to replace the irreplaceable Mourinho.

With him back at the helm, Chelsea has been competitive both in the Barclays Premier League and in the Champions League. It remains possible that his return could prove a great success.

However, nothing is certain in football. Just ask former champions Manchester United.

Chelsea’s reputation as a fickle club is something Mourinho knows from the first time he was let go. It’s possible that he heard loud and clear that the Manchester United manager position is now available.

This time, rather than trust a man with no experience managing a successful club, Manchester United could swing in the opposite direction. Electing to hire a man experienced managing many successful clubs often does breed player confidence and a successful season.

Will Jose Mourinho leave Chelsea FC for Manchester United FC? It’s possible. Should Chelsea finish this season empty-handed, it could prove very possible.
