Charlie Sheen, a man of endless wealth, exquisite taste, and untarnished class, is rumored to have purchased football great Lawrence Taylor’s Super Bowl XXV ring at a recent auction. According to OnTheRedCarpet.com, the former “Two and a Half Men” star snagged the ring for a cool $230,401. Upon hearing the news that Sheen had won the big, FOX Sports reporter Jay Glazer took to Twitter to share the news with his followers.

Taylor, who last played for the New York Giants in 1993, has had some financial troubles as of late, forcing the Hall of Fame inductee to sell some of his prized possessions. SCP Auctions handled the sale of the ring, which, according to the company, is “the most significant Super Bowl player ring ever offered publicly.”
Sheen, meanwhile, has remained strangely tight-lipped about the purchase, stating “no comment” when asked whether or not the reports were true. His manager also declined to comment on the story. The “Men at Work” star is no stranger to dropping insane amounts of money on sports memorabilia; in addition to buying Babe Ruth’s World Series ring, Sheen also paid good money for the player’s contract of sale when he moved to the Yankees.
If you simply cannot get enough Charlie Sheen in your diet, you’ll be happy to know that the troubled actor’s latest project, the FX show “Anger Management”, is scheduled to debut on June 28th. Those who missed the preview for the show can investigate the trailer below.
Update: According to NBC Sports, Sheen is not the proud owner of LT’s Super Bowl ring. The actor reportedly told Dan Patrick, “As much as I would be honored to own such an important artifact, I had nothing to do with the acquisition.” So who currently has possession of the item? Perhaps this one is just meant to remain a mystery.
