Caylee Anthony’s Belongings Sold In Yard Sale

  • Caylee Anthony, the 2-year old whose mother went on trial–and was ultimately found not guilty–for her murder, left behind some belongings with her grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony. Those belongings–including toys, jewelry, and clothing–were laid out in a yard sale in Mount Dora, Florida over the weekend for anyone to buy.

Christina Werner happened to be driving by and stopped at the sale when something grabbed her attention.

“When I pulled up, they were taking tarps off the yard sale items that were covered due to the rain,” Werner told Radar Online. “I immediately noticed the two white canopies over the yard sale tables because they looked like the tents used in the search for Caylee.”

Werner bought several of the child’s items and says she seemed to be the only one who realized the significance of what was up for sale. Interestingly, the Anthonys allegedly argued in front of her about the price of some of the items, as George had marked them down without telling his wife and that upset her.

Casey Anthony has been in hiding somewhere in Florida since the end of her 2011 trial but has faced several legal battles in court; despite being found not guilty of her daughter’s murder, she was found guilty of providing false information to police and, after all her trial costs and the legal costs stemming from a defamation lawsuit, she is now $800,000 in debt. She has filed for bankruptcy and just reached a settlement agreement regarding the rights to her life story in which she’ll pay $25,000, though it’s not clear where she will get the money.
