Carrie Underwood watched it all happen, and for a wife that’s got to instill the most helpless feeling ever.

It was while sitting in the stands at the Nashville Predators vs. the Arizona Coyotes hockey game on Tuesday night that Carrie Underwood watched her husband Mike Fisher sustain a serious injury.

A fan caught the injury as it happened.

The Tennessean reports that Mike Fisher didn’t return to the game following his injury.

Fellow teammate Filip Forsberg said of Mike Fisher and his injury, “He brings the whole package. Just his work ethic and he’s really good in both (the) defensive zone and offensive zone. We don’t know, I don’t know anything about it, so I guess we’ll have to wait a few days to see what’s going on, but hopefully he’ll be playing next game.”

Carrie Underwood looked aghast as she watched her husband lose his balance and get his ride side slammed hard into the boards following a slight push from Coyotes forward Martin Hanzal in the second period. Fisher was unable to put much weight on his right leg, and gingerly retreated to the bench. He required assistance as he returned to the locker room.

“I’m not going to make any assumptions because I don’t know how serious it is, but he’s obviously a great player for us, a big leader up front,” Predators captain Shea Weber said. “He gives you about everything. He’s got grit, he’s got skill and he can score. Definitely a guy that we’re going to miss, unless he’s back next game and then we don’t have to worry about it.”

Even though the Nashville Predators won the game on Tuesday night, Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher likely wish there hadn’t been a game.

Neither Carrie Underwood nor Mike Fisher has commented on his hockey injury.
