Carrie Underwood, “American Idol” winner and record-selling whizkid, is the queen of the Billboard Album Charts once again. The singer’s latest album “Blown Away” sold 120,000 copies last week, securing her the number one position for the second week straight. According to RIAA, the album has already been certified gold. Considering the collection of songs was just released on May 1st, that’s kind of impressive.
Rounding out the Top 5 are Adele’s unstoppable album “21”, veteran crooner Lionel Ritchie’s “Tuskegee”, the latest “Now” compilation, and Norah Jones’ “Little Broken Hearts”.
Underwood recently announced the North American leg of her “Blown Away” tour, which will get underway this summer. If you’re interested in snagging tickets, you’d better do so as soon as humanly possible. Her upcoming June 21st performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London sold out in under 90 minutes. Interested parties should probably gather up all their pennies and nickels and couch cash if they don’t want to miss out on all the fun.
In other Underwood news, apparently the singer does her own laundry. How about that.
