Last week, Bruce Jenner made the news after InTouch released a cover featuring a badly doctored image of Jenner wearing make-up. The headline claimed to be about Jennerâs âlife as a trans womanâ, however, there were no quotes from Jenner and anyone else from the Kardashian clan contained inside. The cover was immediately deemed offensive, and had its detractors. However, sources claim that Jenner really doesnât care all that much about the scandal. In fact, he went back to work the day after the cover was released.
On Thursday, January 15, Jenner was spotted filming his reality show Keeping up with the Kardashians. The star kept a low profile, but itâs clear that all the hoopla surrounding the cover didnât bother him. Itâs another story when it comes to Kris Jenner and the rest of the Kardashian clan though. Sources claim that Kris was so offended by the cover, that she banned InTouch from any press events involving her family.

Kris isnât the only one who was offended by the cover. Various celebrities have also spoken out in support of Bruce, especially those with close ties with the LGBT community. In an episode of her new program, commentator and trans advocate Janet Mock, spoke out against In Touchâs actions. âWhat’s wrong is a magazine aiming to humiliate someone by labeling them a transgender woman, as if being trans and being a woman is an insult,â Mock said âHere’s a headline: Bruce Jenner is whoever Bruce Jenner says he is.â
Comedian Russel Brand also weighed in on the cover controversy on his YouTube show, The Trews. Brand called InTouchâs actions âdystopian-esque bullyingâ. Brand said, âDoesn’t this seem like when you see Blade Runner, or some dystopian thing â when you see a bit of telly in a film from the future, and everything’s a bit âHello, we’re evil now!â. It’s such a celebration of the worst aspects of human values. This is bullying. Stop. Bruce Jenner is a human being.â
