Brittany Kerr and country singer Jason Aldean tied the knot on Saturday in Mexico. The couple confirmed their marriage in a statement for Us Weekly.

Jason Aldean proposed to the former American Idol contestant and former NBA cheerleader back in September after they dated for about two years.

“This is the best day ever–I’ve got my girl here, my friends, my family–it’s the best day ever!” Jason Aldean said of his marriage to Brittany Kerr.

Jason Aldean was married before to Jessica Ussery, and has two daughters–Keeley, who is 12, and Kendyl, who is seven–from that marriage. Both daughters were at the wedding.

It was while Aldean was still married to Ussery that he was caught kissing Brittany Kerr at a bar in L.A. back in 2012. At the time, he said he’d made a mistake and needed some time to work through things privately. The “Big Green Tractor” singer filed for divorce from his wife in April of the next year.

Who knew that a relationship that started as a scandal would wind up in a romantic Mexican wedding? Hopefully Jason Aldean isn’t a perpetual cheater, or Brittany Kerr might find herself in the same position Jessica Ussery did less than three years ago.
