Bradley Cooper has been quite busy this year.

He recently starred in the box office hit Guardians of the Galaxy and he’ll be making his way back to the big screen in December with the release of the biographical action film American Sniper.

However, his most recent efforts have absolutely nothing to do with the big screen. The 39-year-old actor is reportedly spending a lot of his time being a supportive friend to famed Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.

For those who missed it, Lawrence has reportedly broken up with her long-time boyfriend and X-Men co-star, Nicholas Hoult, reports Cover Media.

Now, a source close to Cooper recently spoke with Heat magazine about his role in the 24-year-old actress’ life. The Hangover star has reportedly been a strong shoulder for Lawrence to lean on.

“Jen has been in touch with Bradley a lot recently. And it seems Suki [Waterhouse, his girlfriend] is a bit worried about it. Brad’s insisting he was just trying to cheer Jen up,” a source explained to the British publication.

Although several media outlets leaked news about their apparent split earlier this month, another source close to Lawrence revealed the two actually called it quits long before the media began speculating.

“Jen has been sleeping on friends’ couches for the past few weeks. She actually split up with Nick in July, after accusing him of flirting with other girls,” another insider claimed. “They break up and get back together all the time, but, on this occasion, she was really determined to show him it was over.”

The source also revealed what possibly caused their split. Hoult has been spending a substantial amount of time with Twilight star Kristen Stewart. The two are currently in Japan filming the upcoming the science-fiction, romantic drama film Equals. During a recent interview, Hoult even expressed how easy it is to act as if he were falling in love with Stewart on camera.

According to the source, the comments didn’t sit well with Lawrence.”[Jennifer] contacted Nick and told him that he has two weeks to move his stuff out of their West Hollywood house – she wants him gone,” the source said.
