While Angelina Jolie is preparing to open Meleficent, the film based off of the Sleeping Beauty fairy tale, another on-screen romance is in the works.

Jolie, along with her husband and partner Brad Pitt, is said to be in the early talks of an original script she has written which would star the famous Hollywood couple.

The two were first seen together in Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2005. Incidentally, although Pitt was in divorce proceedings with Jennifer Aniston and vehemently denies adultery, this was the beginning of their relationship. Pitt later admitted that he “fell in love” with Jolie on the set of the film.

“To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive,” Jolie said in 2005. “I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn’t be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife.”

The couple, dubbed “Brangelina” by the media, became engaged in April 2012 after seven years – and six children, three of which are adopted – together.

This new film wouldn’t be the first time Jolie has penned a script for the big screen. In 2011, the 38-year old wrote and directed In the Land of Blood and Honey. Jolie is also currently finishing up Unbroken, an adaption of the Laura Hillenbrand book that she directed. Unbroken is scheduled for release on December 25.

50-year old Pitt is coming off of the success of 12 Years a Slave, an Academy Award-winning film which he produced, and is wrapping up his role in David Ayer’s WWII film, Fury, also starring Shia LaBeouf, Scott Eastwood, and Michael Pena. Fury is set to be released on November 14.

Details about Pitt and Jolie’s film are unknown, but insiders speculate that it could be a relationship drama that Jolie wrote several years ago, centering on a struggling couple who take a vacation in a last-ditch effort to save their marriage.

Pitt and Jolie have a rule that they don’t work on a film at the same time so one of them can stay home with the kids. However, working together on the same film might be a way to get around that.
