BlueGlass announced today that it is has acquired digital marketing agency Quaturo, and that Kevin Gibbons will join the company and form BlueGlass UK.

“Bootstrapped from day 1, BlueGlass continues to build an independent global company (offices now in London, South America, California Florida, New York and Australia) to address evolving needs when the big agencies are increasingly out of step,” a spokesperson for the company tells WebProNews.

“Moving into the UK has long been a part of the BlueGlass plan,” says CEO Richard Zwicky. “The timing was just a matter of finding the right agency, one that shared the same vision as ours. BlueGlass isn’t just entering the UK marketplace; we’re building BlueGlass UK as a British entity to serve the local and global marketplace. Our move into London was a strategic decision, and a natural fit for BlueGlass, and Quaturo was an ideal partner to start with.”

BlueGlass says its revenues have grown 65% year over year.

According to Forrester, by 2016, interactive marketing spend will near $77 billion and represent 35% of all advertising. BlueGlass points to Econsultancy data indicating that 38% of companies and 13% of agencies have content marketing strategies, while over 90% believe content marketing will become more important over the next year.

Over the summer, WPP acquired AKQA for $540 Million, the firm points out, adding that “now the big 5 holding companies (WPP, Omnicom, Publicis, Interpublic and Hava) own most of the largest digital marketing firms.” Conductor also raised $20 Million in VC funding for its SEO software, BlueGlass points out.

Zwicky provides more background on the move in a blog post here.
