Barbi Benton, longtime girlfriend of Hugh Hefner, recently told the Daily Mail that Bill Cosby was a regular at the Playboy mansion when she was living there at the age of 19.

She said Cosby would show up almost every Friday and Saturday and that although he was married at the time, she wasn’t aware of it.

Benton claimed that Cosby would meet up with the same woman every time he visited the mansion, but would not share the name of the woman.

“Bill Cosby was one of the first people I met at the mansion, shortly after I met Hef in 1968,” Benton recalled. I didn’t know whether he was married or not — I was 18, I wasn’t about to ask him. It was unusual for a family man to be at the Mansion — especially as regularly as Cosby was.”

Cosby got married in 1964 and by 1968 already had two children and a third on the way. Benton said that Cosby’s relationship with the woman went on for over a year and that the woman was not one of the women who have accused Cosby of rape and sexual abuse and that she was a willing participant.

Benton said that she never saw Cosby act inappropriately with any of the girls and that if anything would have happened Hef would have never let him back in the mansion because he was very protective of the girls.

“I am sure that Hef knew nothing of these allegations,” she said. “If he had done he would have barred Bill Cosby from the Mansion, even though he was such a good friend.”

Hefner himself has said that he could not believe Cosby would commit such acts and would have never tolerated it.

“Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved,” he told Variety.
