Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag is a pirate game. As such, Ubisoft has been marketing the game with a number of promotions that fully take advantage of pirate lore. It even rented a boat and decked it out in pirate garb during Comic-Con.
Ubisoft shared a video today showcasing the awesome pirate ship that it had set up during San Diego Comic-Con last month. The ship, which was just the Star of India fitted with Assassin’s Creed paraphernalia, was home to a single-player and multiplayer demo of the game alongside a demo of real pirate weapons from a historical weapons expert.
As far as Comic-Con promotions go, Ubisoft may have had one of the best shows. It’s hard to beat a real ship with authentic weaponry and a 20 minute gameplay demo. In fact, the only real competition was that awesome robot.
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag launches on October 29 for Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii U. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will launch alongside those respective platforms, and the PC version will arrive some time in November.
