  • Using her sense of fashion to benefit a worthy cause, Ashley Tisdale has teamed up with a shoe brand to raise money for research on childhood cancer. Tisdale is working with ShoeDazzle on a project called ShoeDazzle Cares, an initiative that hopes to benefit charitable organizations.

As part of the initiative, Tisdale has selected a black bootie from ShoeDazzle to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The High School Musical star told Entertainment Tonight that the faux leather and suede bootie was perfect for the fall season. “I love how it has multiple straps, and since it’s all-black, it goes with everything. It’s easy to pair with anything like an oversized sweater and leather leggings,” Tisdale said.

Tisdale previously recorded a single and donated part of its proceeds to the hospital in September to celebrate Childhood Cancer Awareness month. She reportedly chose the charity because both her grandmother and aunt passed away from cancer. “And when I chose the charity, they said they would love for me to actually spend some time at the charity before I give them any money, which I thought was really admirable,” Tisdale said.

Tisdale reportedly bonded with an 8-year-old patient named Bailey, whose shoe design the actor plans to auction for charity. “I am so inspired by the work of St. Jude. Spending time with the children there is truly rewarding and I admire them so much. I encourage everyone to join the fight against childhood cancer and give back,” said Tisdale.

Recently married, Tisdale also spoke about how it was to be a newlywed with musician Christopher French. The couple started dating in December 2012 and finally tied the knot on September 8. “It’s great! It doesn’t really feel like anything has changed even though it has. It’s like I’m married to my best friend,” she said.
