  • April Margera was the first to let the world know that it had lost Vincent Margera, also known as Don Vito to fans of Viva La Bam! and Jackass.

According to April Margera, Vincent died after struggling for a long time with liver and kidney problems.

April Margera said in a statement, “He struggled with kidney and liver issues for a while, and he put up a good fight. But he died this morning at 6:45 a.m. at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, Pennsylvania.”

However, it seems from the rest of April Margera’s statement that his death was not really a surprise to Don Vito, just like it probably wasn’t much of a surprise to those who watched him slur and stumble through his appearances on the MTV shows.

April Margera continued, “He said to me last week that he wanted everyone to know it was a good ride.”

She added, “He enjoyed himself and wanted to thank all the fans. He went through a lot, especially with the Denver stuff. He wanted everyone to know that he never did that.”

The casually mentioned “Denver stuff” April Margera spoke of was actually two counts of sexual assault on a child that stemmed from a 2006 Colorado autograph session that went awry.

Margera was convicted of grabbing the breasts and buttocks of two girls ages 12 and 14 at the autograph signing and sentenced to 10 years to life on parole and wasn’t allowed to play the role of Don Vito for 10 years.

After the trial, Margera’s attorney insisted, “He has virtually no memory of it.”
