  • Anne Hathaway has always been a little awkward and different, but those characteristics are what make her so appealing to many of her fans. Another likeable trait that Hathaway possesses is the ability to be honest with herself and laugh at her own mistakes.

Hathaway recently shared some of her most embarrassing moments on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Hathaway said that she has a lot of embarrassing moments but said that the one that tops the list is the time when she hosted the Oscars with James Franco. Instead of introducing the nominees for the night, the cohosts introduced their mother and grandmother, leaving a silent and confused audience.

“The thing about me and embarrassment is you have to remember is that it all happens on a scale,” Hathaway said to Fallon. “If you think about embarrassment on scale of 1 to 10, 1 being a person walking down the street and 10 is, for me, co-hosting the Oscars with James Franco.”

She said that her second most embarrassing moment also happened at the Oscars. She recalled the time she won an Oscar and had to go up on stage to accept it wearing a dress that wasn’t one of her favorites.

“Which, by the way, is only tied with being honored to accept an Oscar while wearing a dress that I knew made it look like my nipples are erect,” she added.

She also shared a third and less-embarrassing moment about the time the teleprompter broke while she was honoring Matthew McConaughey.

Hathaway may not have the best of luck when it comes to speeches and hosting events, but at least she has a sense of humor and doesn’t let her mistakes get her down.
