Anna Kendrick has a new style icon, and wasn’t too shy to gush about her new pal in a recent interview about her upcoming film, “The Voices”.

The actress has been working with Ryan Reynolds, who, despite his hunk-status, took on a pretty different role than what we’re used to seeing him in. As an awkward serial killer who talks to severed heads, Reynolds has taken a bit of a departure from his prior work. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t as charming as always.

“He’s an absolute dream to work with. He’s so talented and he’s playing a really odd character,” Kendrick said. But it was his wife, former “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively, who had Kendrick mesmerized.

“She’s just heaven! She’s so kind and so stylish,” Kendrick said. “Every time I would see her wear a new nail polish color, I’d be like, ‘I’m going to wear green nail polish like her!’ But then, damn, it doesn’t make me look like Blake Lively. So close!”

“The Voices” just premiered at Sundance this week and is earning buzz as a grisly psychological thriller, a genre Reynolds hasn’t delved into before. The movie focuses on getting into the mind of a murderer whose alter egos come through via his animals, something Kendrick admits is weird.

“I mean, it’s fucking insane,” Kendrick said after the premiere.

However, Reynolds isn’t a fan of cats, and they aren’t a fan of his, either; the director, Marjane Satrapi, says that he didn’t even come into contact with the feline actor for most of the film.

“With a cat, you shoot half an hour and you have maybe five seconds that’s usable,” she explained. “The dog obeys, but the cat! You tell him to sit, and he will not sit. That’s the last thing he will do. Plus, Ryan is scared of cats. And cats don’t like Ryan either. 98 percent of what you see of Ryan and the cat, they’re never in the same room.”
