Anna Duggar has been through so much in the past few months. First her husband was exposed to the world as a molester from when he was a teen. She rode that out, standing behind her man, even when the Duggar family lost its television show, even when her man lost his job in Washington, DC.

Then Anna Duggar was hit with the very public news that Josh Duggar had kept a paid Ashley Madison account, had cheated on her, and was headed into rehab for “porn addiction.”

According to sources close to Anna Duggar who claim to know her upbringing, Anna has been under some pressure all her life. These sources even say that Anna’s family was way worse than the Duggar family when it comes to draconian child-raising tactics.

“Her parents are even a little more extreme,” the source said of the Kellers, Anna’s family. “Anna and her siblings were always taught that if you follow these 10 steps or whatever, God would bless you.”

Even after Anna met Josh Duggar at a homeschool conference, and took a liking to him, it wasn’t something she was allowed to be effusive about at home. Everything had to be tempered down.

“That’s not something that’s shared amongst siblings,” the source of Anna falling in love with Josh. “They always got 15-minute, one-on-one sessions with their mom every week. That was the time to share their feelings, but other than that they had to keep their feelings to themselves.”

Even with that environment to grow up in, Anna is described as being fun-loving as a child and teen.

“She’s really fun. She was always the bossy sister, but in a fun way. If she and her siblings were playing a game, she would make sure they were doing it exactly by the rules. They always had a good time together.”

Then came her time among the Duggars.

“Ever since she met [the Duggars] she has acted more like Michelle,” another source says. “She talks like her, real soft. She, like, whispers.”

Anna’s brother Daniel Keller has said that Anna is not getting the family support she needs since the news of Josh’s cheating broke.

“[My] parents are preaching stay w[ith] him,” Daniel Keller wrote on Facebook. The[y’re] more interested in how [their] daughter getting a divorce will make them look than they are in trying to truly get [J]osh some help and getting Anna and the kids out of there till he has gotten that help.”

Perhaps that is because the Kellers already have one daughter going through divorce now. Anna’s sister Rebecca is in the middle of a split that a source says is already a shock to the family.

“I don’t think her parents ever thought they would ever come to a situation like this,” says the source. “They just don’t know what to do. They always taught their kids that divorce was never an option. They never even thought about cheating. But that’s not how life works.”
