Angelina Jolie made her first post-surgery appearance on Saturday night when she attended the Kids Choice Awards with daughters Shiloh and Zahara.
Jolie had her ovaries and fallopian tubes removed just a short time ago following a cancer scare. It was back in 2013 when the actress had a double mastectomy following genetic testing that showed she was at high risk for developing both breast and ovarian cancer.
On Saturday, however, Angelina Jolie radiated life and confidence alongside two of her daughters. They were especially thrilled when their famous mom won a Kids Choice Award. She won for Best Villain for her role in Maleficent. She was also nominated for Best Actress, but lost out to Emma Stone for her role in The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

Seeing Angelina Jolie with her daughters–Shiloh is eight and Zahara is 10–further prove a statement she made to People magazine prior to tying the knot with Brad Pitt.
“We’ve been through so much,” she said at the time. “We’ve gotten a lot closer, which I think naturally happens with raising a family together. You have history. … You have this person who really knows you, and you know them so well. You’re not lovers or boyfriend and girlfriend as much as you are a family.”

On Saturday, Jolie addressed those at the Kids Choice Awards, as well as viewers at home.
“Thank you so much to all the kids who voted. I want to say that when I was little, like Maleficent, I was told that I was different and I felt out of place and too loud, too full of fire and never good at sitting still, never good at fitting in. And then one day I realized something, something I hope you all realize. Different is good. So, don’t fit in, don’t sit still, don’t ever try to be less than what you are and when someone tells you that you are different, smile and hold your head up high and be proud,” she said. “And, and as your villain, I would also say, cause a little trouble. It’s good for you.”
Angelina Jolie even got through the entire Kids Choice Awards event, and walked away without getting slimed.
Shiloh and Zahara might have enjoyed seeing that happen.
