If you ever watched an episode of Little People Big World on TLC, you may be familiar with the Roloff family. The Roloff couple, Matt and Amy were both little people and had 4 children, 2 of which were little people also. The family owned a farm and the television crew filmed the family as they lived, worked and played.
While Amy and Matt may not have always seen eye to eye on the show, they seemed to have a strong marriage and were raising well-rounded children and running a successful farm.
The couple recently revealed that their marriage may not be as strong as it appeared and announced they were engaging in a trial separation. While both Amy and Matt agreed that the separation was a good thing, they both admitted that it wouldn’t be an easy one. The couple released a statement about the separation saying,
“Though we have weathered many storms together, we recently made the tough decision to engage in a trial separation. Matt remains living on the farm in our guesthouse and we work together everyday on the farm, on our business endeavors and most importantly, raising our amazing children. We sincerely appreciate the unwavering support, understanding and prayers from our family, friends and many fans. May God Bless you.”
The separation doesn’t mean the show will come to an end and TLC plans to air a special that will show the changes for the Roloff family.
Although the choice to separate seems mutual, Amy admitted that she was not sure what would happen and really didn’t have a plan for the future,
“I think what Matt and I failed to do over many, many years is learned to live together, It’s not my choice for him to leave. I am saddened by it, and it’s been 26 years. We don’t have a plan as far as how we are going to work this out so it’s not going to be easy,” she said.
