  • In their second time hosting the Golden Globe Awards, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey once again opened the ceremony with big laughs.

Referring to the huge stars in attendance, Poehler said, “This year is legit.”

The 42-year old actress and comedian and her longtime comic pal, Fey, jabbed at the big names on their list, but it was all in good fun.

Prodding actor Matt Damon on the hierarchy of the guest list, Poehler said, “Matt on any other night you’d be a big deal…but tonight, you’re basically a garbage person.”

The jokes continued on to actor Matthew McConaughey who lost 40 pounds for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, which Fey said is what actresses call “being in a movie.”

Nobody was safe. Speaking of The Wolf of Wall Street actor, Poehler said, “If I wanted to see Jonah Hill masturbate at a pool party, I’d go to one of Jonah Hill’s pool parties.”

But the best jab toward a male actor was aimed at an absent George Clooney when Poehler and Fey said that the Gravity star “would rather float away into space and die then spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”

However, men weren’t the only ones targeted in the award show opener.

“Interestingly, Julia has chosen to sit in the film section,” the hosts pointed out about star Julia Louis-Dreyfus. “Hi, Julia. Hi, Julia. You know us from TV.”

Julia played along as she shielded her face with over-sized sunglasses and smoked on an electronic cigarette.

The female duo even poked fun at themselves. Poehler said that “Amy Poehler” was in attendance before the camera panned to Jennifer Lawrence, to which she added how good she looked for a 40-something mother of two.

Later, almost two hours into the show, Amy Poehler won Best Actress in a TV Comedy for Parks and Recreation. In celebration, after her name was announced, she “made out” with Bono before coming to the stage to accept her award.

Poehler and Fey have been best friends since 1993 after meeting at an improv class at Chicago’s ImprovOlympic.
