Earlier today American Idol host, Ryan Seacrest, took to Twitter to inform his 6+ million followers that the show is “putting together a tribute for Dick Clark”. This really comes as now surprise, as the two were longtime friends, and co-hosts of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve”.

We’re putting together a tribute for Dick Clark onIf you’re wondering who @dizzyfeet is, it’s the Twitter handle for Nigel Lythgoe, American Idol executive producer (and “So You Think You Can Dance” judge”).
Seacrest made a very brief, but heartfelt, mention of Clark during last nights taping of American Idol, “Without Dick, a show like this would not exist,” the host said before noting that the Bandstand host would be the first one to say, “Hey, let’s get on with the show.” You can see Seacrest’s tribute below:
