"American Horror Story: Asylum" will be seeing one more familiar face returning to its cast this season, even though the story and timeline are completely different from the first installment.

Dylan McDermott will be joining the mental asylum where the story takes place, although it's not yet known what role he'll take on. Showrunner Ryan Murphy tweeted the news on Wednesday, saying he was excited to have McDermott back on set.

The new season looks to be a doozy, with tons of gore and sex and insanity; fans are hoping it doesn't leave off in an unsatisfying way like last season, which saw most of the characters killed off and a lot of unanswered questions hanging in the air. Several cast members made their way back this time around in different roles, including Jessica Lange and Evan Peters.
