  • Amber Portwood, star of the hit reality TV show Teen Mom on MTV, has recently launched her memoir Never Too Late on Amazon.com. The book discusses some very difficult points in her life, including her stints on the MTV shows 16 And Pregnant and Teen Mom as well as her struggle with drug addiction and her 17 months in prison.

Portwood revealed in an interview with MTV News that she wrote the book because she thought it was an important step to connecting more closely with her fans. “I had been thinking about writing a book since my stay in prison. I felt it was time when I got out to actually do it. I think my book is able to give strength and determination to those who are struggling,” she said.

Her five-year-old daughter, Leah is reportedly impressed that her mother had written the book. “She thinks it’s neat. She said, ‘I’m in a story like the books I read!’ She’s adorable,” Portwood said.

The 24-year-old reality TV star is also receiving kudos and support from an unlikely source: her Teen Mom co-star Farrah Abraham. Although Portwood and Abraham sometimes did not get along on the show, Abraham recently told RadarOnline that she was confident that her co-star would achieve sobriety. “I have faith in the strength Amber has to overcome all of her past habits. Sobriety should be easy for her,” she said.

The porn star and aspiring singer has also expressed interest in reconnecting with Portwood, saying, “We are older and have been through so much for the better and will always be able to catch up with each other like it was yesterday.”

Abraham was reportedly fired from the show by MTV because her co-stars couldn’t stand her return. Portwood, along with Catelynn Lowell and Maci Bookout, allegedly threatened to leave the show if Abraham was allowed to come back because they didn’t like Abraham’s bad behavior.
